Viggo Mortensen’s 5 Top Movies Of All Time

Viggo Mortensen is a brilliant actor that became best well known for his role in The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. However, Viggo Mortensen is not a one trick pony and is capable of executing roles with precise incision. I think what makes Viggo Mortensen so memorable is that his presence is so strong, even in movies where dialogue is scarce. He has this primal quality in him that is incredibly bewitching. In violent scenes he’s macabre to say the least and his face always remains perfectly composed. I think he’s one of the greatest actors of our time. He’s also a writer and a painter. He’s an artist all around that brings an excellent pallet to his films.

Viggo Mortensen Quotes:
Regarding his research on “Eastern Promises,” “I found some materials, some books and also a documentary a friend of mine made called “The Mark of Cain”. It’s a hard thing to do but she went into maximum-security prisons in Russia and spoke to people like Nikolai. And I went to Russia as well. I read and listened to and looked up anything I could that had to do with Russians even loosely connected with this story. The more Russian I could be and seem authentically, the better it would be.”
Regarding human reactions: “Be kind. It’s worthwhile to make an effort to learn about other people and figure out what you might have in common with them.”
